KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-AVN) - An inspection group from the Netherlands led by Colonel Johannes Malder has completed the check of the 45th airmobile brigade of the 1st mechanized division organic to the western operational command of the Ukrainian Land Forces, a spokesman for the Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.
The inspectors studied the park of the brigade's combat vehicles and samples of main armament systems. They visited a tank-training ground where a planned driving of IFVs took place, the spokesman said.
Inspection groups from the United States and France have ended their checks in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, too, the spokesman said. The groups found no violations of the Vienna Document 1999.
The document envisages a series of measures aimed at strengthening trust and security between its signatories. It limits certain types of military activities and envisages data exchanges on the number of personnel, main armament systems and conduction of large-scale military exercises.
