MOSCOW. Jan 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Dagestani law enforcement bodies have detained ten people suspected of involvement in a terrorist act carried out in Makhachkala on January 18, which killed seven federal servicemen.
No official charges have been brought against any of the detainees, the press service for the Russia Interior Ministry told Interfax on Monday. Among the detainees is a former State Duma deputy Nadir Khachilayev, the press service said. A Stechkin gun, several rifles and cartridges of various caliber were found in his home.
"Intensive search measures involving a regiment of patrol service and riot police" are being taken in Makhachkala, Interfax was told.
Investigators meet daily over this issue, the Interior Ministry said.
