STAVROPOL. Jan 28 (Interfax-AVN) - The Stavropol territory composite police unit in Chechnya underwent a rotation last weekend, a spokesman for the territory's police department told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
Policemen of patrol service who are sent to Chechnya from various towns and villages of the territory serve on borders of the Shelkovskaya and Naurskaya districts, the spokesman said. The number of people stationed in the Naurskaya village was doubled in the course of the rotation, as 100 policemen replaced 50.
Elite policemen of the Stavropol territory serving in Grozny were replaced as well. 30 elite policemen from Pyatigorsk and 45 from Stavropol will man two strongpoints near the Severny airport for the next three months. This is the tenth service trip of the territory's policemen to Chechnya.
Before leaving for Chechnya Stavropol territory police chief Lieutenant General Alexander Saprunov checked the readiness of the composite unit.
