MOSCOW. Jan 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian presidential envoy to the Southern Federal District Viktor Kazantsev said he doubts that the crash of an MI-8 Hip helicopter in Chechnya's Shelkovskaya district on January 27, which killed 14 people, could have been caused by a missile launched from the ground.
"Some damage inside the helicopter is possible," the federal envoy said in a Monday interview with RTR television.
As for the assumption that the helicopter was shot down from the ground, Kazantsev noted that he knows the scene of the crash hidden there to shoot down a flying object."
"However, nothing can be dismissed," he added.
