MOSCOW. Feb 6 (Interfax-AVN) - The defense committee of the State Duma lower house of Russian parliament will analyze capabilities of the Russian defense industry in the implementation of the state armament program envisaged up to 2010 at its extramural session in Tula, the committee's deputy chairman Major General Nikolai Bezborodov said on Wednesday.
The committee already held several similar sessions in some defense industry areas of the country, Bezborodov told Interfax- Military News Agency. At the current session the lawmakers are to develop position on the Russian defense industry involvement in supplies of arms to foreign countries as well as maintenance and development of mobilization capabilities of the defense industry.
The session will involve members of the State Duma committees on security, industry, construction and knowledge- intensive technologies, members of profile committees of the Federation Council upper house of Russian parliament, chief of the Armed Forces armament and directors of several defense enterprises.
