TALLINN. Feb 7 (Interfax/BNS) - NATO Deputy Secretary General for political matters Gunter Altenburg will arrive in Estonia on Thursday to check on Estonia's preparations for joining NATO.
The Estonian Foreign Ministry's press service has told BNS that Altenburg will meet with Estonian Prime Minister Siim Kallas, Foreign Minister Kristiina Ojuland, Defense Minister Sven Mikser and Commander of the Defense Forces Tarmo Kouts.
The meetings will focus on the one-year program of Estonia's preparation for admission to NATO and implementation of the individual program of partnership with the Alliance.
Altenburg is also planning to visit the Estonian Defense Ministry, Foreign Ministry, Main Staff of the Defense Forces and parliament.
