WMD protection brigade to hold CPX Feb. 11-15

MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax-AVN) -The 3rd separate WMD protection brigade of the Moscow military district will hold a planned command post exercise (CPX) in the vicinity of the Kineshma village in the Ivanovo region from February 11 to 15, a competent source said in the district headquarters on Thursday.

Participants in the exercise will practice main provisions of the new draft of Land Forces combat regulations, the source told Interfax-Military News Agency.

The exercise will be supervised by Major General Vasily Babanov, commander of the district's WMD protection troops. The brigade led by Colonel Alexander Kudrichev will work on combat and special training issues for five days.

Main attention will be paid to the organization of servicemen's actions in present-day types of combat as well as in accomplishment of special missions within battalion- and regiment- size task forces taking into account experience of the Chechnya campaign.

The brigade will also practice several provisions of the draft regulations dealing with actions of WMD protection troops in the offensive and defensive.
