MOSCOW. Feb 7 (Interfax-AVN) - The successor to the Spanish throne, Prince Felipe of Asturias, visited the Khrunichev space research and production center on Thursday, the center's press service reported.
The visit took place under the auspices of Prince Felipe's official visit to Russia. He was met at the center by its first deputy director general Vitaly Stasyuk.
The Spanish delegation was briefed on the history of the center, visited final assembly shops for such product-line leaders as the Proton launch vehicle and its modification Proton- M, the Rockot launch vehicle as well as the Breeze-M upper stage booster and FGB-2 (functional cargo space module) for the International Space Station.
The guests were particularly interested in Khrunichev's latest projects, both under the Russian federal space program and promising commercial programs, including the family of next- generation Angara launch vehicles, the Baikal reusable booster, small communications and environmental monitoring satellites based on the Yakhta generic space bus.
