Some crewmembers of MI-8 helicopter that crashed in Chechnya alive

MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Chief of the Russian Air Force press service Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky told Interfax on Thursday evening that the catastrophe of the MI-8 Hip helicopter in Chechnya killed seven passengers.

Captain Major Yuri Pukhnarevich, co-pilot and navigator Yuri Plakhteyev and flight technician Andrei Lebedev survived and were taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

"Russian Air Force Commander Vladimir Mikhailov, who is heading a commission investigating the crash, has already met with the injured pilots," Drobyshevsky said.
