Georgian minister of state, UN envoy to negotiate with Abkhaz leadership

TBILISI. Feb 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgian Minister of State Avtandil Dzhorbenadze and officials of the Abkhaz leadership will discuss conflict settlement and resumption of negotiations on powers division in the framework of Georgia's territorial integrity in Sukhumi on February 11, a spokesman for the Georgian State Chancellor's Office told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Dzhorbenadze's visit is mediated by Dieter Boden, envoy of the UN secretary general to Georgia.

The highlight of the visit is the meeting between Dzhorbenadze and Abkhaz Prime Minister Anri Dzhergeniya. The two men are heading delegations of their countries to the coordination council on the conflict settlement. No sessions of the council have been held since spring last year.

Dzhorbenadze will be accompanied Boden and Georgian Minister without Portfolio Malkhaz Kakabadze.

Boden negotiated with the Abkhaz leadership on Monday but failed to convince them to establish a constructive dialogue with Georgia.
