Deputy military commissioner arrested for bribe-taking in Central European Russia

TULA, Central European Russia. Feb 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Agents of military counterintelligence and the Federal Security Service (FSB) department in the Tula region have detained Major Khromov, military commissioner of the Zaoksky district of the Tula region, for taking a USD600 bribe, a spokesman for the military prosecutor's office of the Tula garrison said on Friday.

Khromov promised to grant a draft deferment to a local resident for USD600, the spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency. The prosecutor's office launched a criminal case against the official.
