VLADIKAVKAZ. Feb 11 (Interfax-AVN) - There has been a new attempt on the life of North Ossetian Interior Minister Kazbek Dzantiyev in Vladikavkaz at 7:20 a.m. local time (0420 GMT) on Monday, Interfax was told at the North Ossetian Interior Ministry.
An explosive device went off when Dznatiyev was driving from his home to his office. One of his guards was wounded in the leg but the minister remained unharmed.
The first attempt on his life took place ahead of the local presidential elections on January 27. Then a bomb exploded as Dzantiyev was coming out of the entrance of his house. Investigators accounted the incident to Dzantiyev's energetic support for Alexander Dzasokhov who ultimately won the elections.
Dzasokhov's inauguration ceremony is due in Vladikavkaz on Tuesday.
