Two units of Moscow military district to complete CPX

MOSCOW. Feb 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Two units of the Moscow military district will complete a four-day command post exercise at the Alabino proving range on Thursday, a spokesman for the district headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency.

The exercise involves the 202nd surface-to-air missile brigade under command of Colonel Alexander Korolkov and the 70th radio-technical brigade under command of Colonel Sergei Kashin, the spokesman said. It is supervised by the commander of the district's air defense, Major General Mikhail Krush.

Participants in the exercise that was launched on Monday have practiced elements of combat and special training of launch crews within batteries and battalions, as well as their interaction with the brigade headquarters and other command bodies of a Land Forces grouping.

The final stage of the exercise is scheduled for Thursday, the spokesman said. It will feature control training of battery and battalion commanders in fire control under the circumstances of rebuffing an aviation strike and practicing in aerial targets destruction.

The training will take place on the background of a maneuver enemy's active opposition to detection, tracking and identification of aerial targets. Crews of S-300V1 surface-to-air missile systems will not perform live firing.

Krush will sum up and analyze results of the exercise on Friday.
