MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax-AVN) - The Moscow military district will hold the final stage of active operations in the framework of a regiment-level command post exercise (CPX) on Friday, a spokesman for the district's combat training department told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"The exercise takes place simultaneously at the 1st tank regiment and the 283rd motorized rifle regiment of the 2nd Taman guard motorized rifle division stationed in the Alabino village of the Moscow region, as well as in the 61st tank regiment and the 248th motorized rifle regiment of the 10th tank division stationed in the town of Boguchar in the Voronezh region," the spokesman said.
Colonel Andrei Glushchenko, commander of the 2nd division, and Colonel Ivan Buvaltsev, commander of the 10th division, are supervising the exercise.
The war games have lasted five days. Their participants have practiced elements of combat and operational training of headquarters and units, checked their harmonization in action within regiment-size task forces taking into account combat experience gained in the Chechnya campaign.
The live firing of platoons will happen at the divisions' proving ranges on Friday. It will take place in the framework of the CPX, too.
