Federal helicopters destroy some 20 rebels in Chechnya

KHANKALA. Feb 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Combat helicopters of the unified federal troops group in the North Caucasus have destroyed some 20 rebels, four vehicles and six temporary stationing points of Chechen rebels, a spokesman for the group headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.

The helicopters supported special units in operations in the vicinity to the Agishty, Dachu-Borzoi and Chishki villages on Friday. They fired at detected extremist groups near the Goiskoye, Grushevoye and Alkhazurovo villages. Rebels fired small arms in response.

Transport helicopters of the group airlifted some 50 servicemen and five tonnes of cargo in the interests of the federal troops on Friday morning.
