MOSCOW. Feb 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The Defense Ministry board will hold a session on Wednesday to discuss development prospects of the control system in the ministry, armed services and military branches, a spokesman for the ministry told Interfax- Military News Agency.
The board will also consider topographic and geodetic backing of the Armed Forces that will be based on new information technologies, the spokesman said.
According to the ministry's specialists, a considerable increase in the efficiency of armament and military hardware can be reached only through modernization of computers. In particular, the efficiency might increase by 15 percent in the Air Force, 25 percent in the Land Forces reconnaissance and firing systems and 30 percent in the Navy.
The restructuring and technical modernization of the Russian Armed Forces, including the optimization of the control system, strictly correspond to the national budget allocations for this purpose, the spokesman added.
