MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend a number of important functions on Thursday, the president's spokesman, Alexei Gromov, said.
Putin will meet recently promoted high-ranking officers, Gromov said. He will present banners of branches of the Armed Forces and other troops.
Moreover, Putin will attend a Kremlin session of the Trustee Council of Russia's National Military Foundation. Russian Patriarch Alexy II heads the foundation that helps the families of military combat victims and handicapped people.
The president will also meet the leadership of the Federation Council and participate in other events, he said.
