Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovaniye group to implement Joint Russian- Belarus automobile program

ST.PETERSBURG. Feb 21 (Interfax-AVN) - The Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovaniye (Aerospace Equipment) International Financial and Industrial Group has started implementation of the joint Russian- Belarussian program of introducing new electric anti-blocking brake units at trunk-line wheeled vehicles of the Russian- Belarussian Union's leading automobile plants, deputy director of the enterprise in charge of public relations Mikhail Gorokhov told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.

Gorokhov added that an order for producing several thousands of anti-blocking brake units had been placed with the Minsk-based MAZ unitary enterprise within the framework of the production program for the year 2002; the units are to be mounted on large- cargo wheeled vehicles.

A meeting was held between acting director general of Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovaniye Valery Kiselevich, acting vice- president of the KAMAZ JS Danis Valeyev and head of the KamAZtekhobsluzhivanie joint stock company, the subject matter of the talks being organization of introducing the anti-blocking brake units, Gorokhov said.

The participants in the negotiations determined KAMAZ service centers that would be entitled to installing the units and rendering services on its employment maintenance. Experts are now engaged in elaborating the certification program and project of training specialists employed at the service centers. It is also necessary to set up an efficient system of collecting and analyzing data on the systems' status and maintenance-related problems.

Representatives of other producers and users of large-cargo wheeled vehicles from military and civil enterprises supported the idea of fitting vehicles with the new assets. The technical managers of the Ural Automobile Plant JS have made a decision to adjust the anti-blocking units produced at by Aerokosmicheskoye Oborudovaniye for their subsequent employment on Ural vehicles. A corresponding joint protocol has been signed, Gorokhov stressed.
