No new contracts for procuring Krasnopol artillery control units signed at Defexpo India 2002

NEW DELHI. Feb 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia is delivering Krasnopol artillery systems control units to India in accordance with contracts signed prior to the Defexpo India 2002 international exhibition of ground and sea-borne assets, head of the Rosoboronexport company's delegation to the show Viktor Komardin told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.

No new orders for Krasnopol units have been signed with Rosoboronexport and the Tula-based Instrument-Building Design Bureau at the exhibition.

Komardin stressed that Russia was fulfilling its commitments in regards to delivering armament and military equipment to India. The Russian side is now transferring T-90S tanks, SU-30MK multi-functional aircraft and KA-31 helicopters to its Indian partners.

"The first batch of SU-30MKI multifunctional fighters produced at the Irkutsk Aircraft-Production Association is to be delivered to India in 2002," Komardin said.

Deliveries of 124 T-90S tanks assembled at the Uralvagonzavod plant in the city of Nizhny Tagil are to be completed by the end of the current year. Another 186 tanks will be assembled at Indian enterprises in accordance with the contract.
