ALMATY. Feb 21 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Kazakhstan's state arms trader Kazspetsexport is taking part in the Defexpo India 2002 land and naval systems exhibition currently being held in Delhi.
Products of nearly all of Kazakhstan's defense enterprises are represented at the exhibition, a Kazspetsexport representative told Interfax on Thursday.
Kazakhstan has brought NSAVP-12.7 large-caliber machine guns and Kobalt revolvers manufactured by the Metallist enterprise in Uralsk (Western Kazakhstan), and naval assets manufactured by the Kirov machine-building enterprise in Almaty, earlier highly appraised at an arms show in the United Arab Emirates.
Kazspetsexport believes the presentation of products manufactured by Kazakh defense enterprises at such a high-level international arms show is a sign of broadening military- technical cooperation between Kazakhstan and India and mutually advantageous relations with other regions.
This is the second major arms show in which Kazakhstan has participated, the Kazspetsexport representative said. In March 2001, Kazakhstan's national delegation had a display at one of the world's largest arms shows, IDEX 2001 in Abu Dhabi.
The Defexpo India 2002 exhibition, which lasts until February 23, has brought together representatives of 140 firms from 19 countries.
