Russian Land Forces Command to practice troops control

MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax-AVN) - The Land Forces Command will start three-day command post training on Tuesday under the guidance of Land Forces Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant General Alexander Morozov, a competent source in the Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency.

The aim of the training is to improve practical skills of the command's high-ranking officials in control over troops and headquarters of military districts.

The training takes place in line with the training plan worked out for the Russian Armed Forces command bodies. It is the first event of this kind in the Land Forces command established in December last year.

According to the source, the training will involve bodies of the Land Forces Staff, missile troops and artillery, Land Forces air defense, army aviation, engineering and WMD protection troops as well as headquarters of military districts and joint-arms armies. Land Forces Commander and Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Kormiltsev will take part in the training as well.

No tactical exercises or missile launches are envisaged in the course of the training, the source noted.
