Armor protection to be mounted on personnel-carrying trucks in Chechnya

KHANKALA. Feb 26 (Interfax-AVN) - Twelve personnel-carrying trucks with armor-protection have been dispatched to Chechnya this year, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters in the North Caucasus told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.

The spokesman said that four blasts of federal vehicles had been registered in February alone. No servicemen were injured in two cases due to armor protection of the vehicles.

Experts of the Artillery Armament Center of the North Caucasus military district have been charged with re-fitting and improving wheeled vehicles.

A representative of the district's armament service said experts of the Artillery Center provided repair and maintenance services for some 150 pieces of armament of various types in Chechnya, including up to 50 artillery systems, 30 radar and optical assets.
