GROZNY. Feb 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Six policemen and federal servicemen have suffered injuries as a result of terrorist and subversive acts in Chechnya over the past 24 hours.
Two policemen were wounded when their vehicle hit a mine in Grozny's Staropromyslovsky district, the Chechen military commandant's office told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.
Another policeman was wounded in a similar incident on the outskirts of Argun, 150 meters from a checkpoint.
A military convoy came under fire on the outskirts of the village of Novaya Zhizn in the Kurchaloi district, as a result of which one serviceman was wounded. Automatic rifle fire was opened at the convoy by a Chechen hiding in a car parked at the roadside. The rebel was killed in return fire, the military commandant's office said.
Two field engineers hit a landmine and suffered injuries when they were examining a road one kilometer from Gudermes.
Six more federal units and stationing areas came under fire in various districts of Chechnya. There were no losses among federals who fired back on each occasion.
