TBILISI. March 1 (Interfax-AVN) - A group of U.S. military instructors will arrive in Georgia in the second half of March, spokesman for the Georgian Defense Ministry Miryan Kiknadze has told Interfax.
He also said that in mid-March a team of American advisors will arrive in Tbilisi to work on a joint program of helping reform the Georgian Armed Forces.
Kiknadze said the U.S. instructors will start training an army formation assigned for anti-terrorist operations.
On Thursday Defense Minister David Tevsadze announced on Georgian TV that some 200 American instructors are expected to be sent to train two or three special purpose army battalions.
