KHANKALA. March 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Federal SU-24 Fencer and SU-25 Frogfoot combat planes flew six sorties in Chechnya on Sunday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The air strikes were inflicted on earlier detected extremist targets. As a result, a rebel field camp and two strongpoints were eliminated.
MI-8 Hip helicopters carried out reconnaissance missions on Sunday. MI-24 Hind helicopters accomplished some 20 missions escorting convoys and controlling roads of the breakaway republic.
Helicopterists transported over 70 servicemen and some 5t of cargo in the interests of the group. AN-12 Cub and AN-26 Curl transport planes airlifted some 120 people and 8t of technical cargo to central Russia.
