GROZNY. March 11 (Interfax-AVN) - A large-scale mopping-up operation that started five days ago is still underway, with the villages of Staryie Atagi and Novyie Atagi southeast of Grozny completely sealed off, head of the Grozny rural district administration Shaid Dzhmaldayev told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The traffic is blocked on the Grozny-Shatoi motorway that runs through the area. Besides, special operations are underway in the villages of Tolstoi-Yurt and Alkhan-Kala.
Two people suspected of involvement in illegal armed formations have been detained in Alkhan-Kala, Dzhamaldayev said. Besides, federals have destroyed some 100 illegal oil refineries.
