KHANKALA. March 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Rebels blasted 10 landmines in Chechnya last week, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
The highest level of sabotage activity was registered in the Leninsky district of Grozny as well as in the town of Argun and Shali district of the breakaway republic. Some 10 law-enforcers were injured as a result of the terrorist acts. In particular, a landmine blast at an intercity communication point in the town of Sernovodsk on March 21 contused five police officers from the Bryansk region who were accomplishing combat missions in the Achkhoi-Martan district.
Engineering reconnaissance units checked 350km of roads and defused 15 explosive devices last week.
