KHANKALA. March 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Rebels blasted 14 federal vehicles in Chechnya last week, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
The blasts took place in Grozny, Gudermes and Severny airport, the spokesman said.
Sappers defused over 120 explosive devices, including 17 powerful landmines, while conducting engineering reconnaissance operations.
Rebels attacked federal positions and administrative installations 47 times including 12 times in Grozny. 31 attacks took place at night.
Extremist groups were engaged in Grozny, Argun and seven more localities of the breakaway republic. 14 rebels were killed and one captured.
Special operations were held in the Shali, Vedeno and Achkhoi-Martan districts. They resulted in detention of 83 suspected guerrillas, detection of five arms and ammo caches and elimination of 17 illegal oil refineries.
