U.S., Azerbaijani military consultations open in Baku

BAKU. March 27 (Interfax-AVN) - Two days of military consultations between the Pentagon and the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry opened in Baku on Wednesday.

The U.S. Embassy in Baku has told the press that the American side at the talks is represented by a delegation of experts led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Mira Ricardel.

The consultations are spotlighting bilateral defense projects, regional security and other issues.

A joint statement will be signed as a results of the consultations.

Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Aliyev has recently said that a plan of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran will be worked out after bilateral Azerbaijani-U.S. consultations.
