Russian army's chief-of-staff to sum up results of Airborne Troops inspection

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Results of a comprehensive inspection of the Airborne Staff, large units and separate units of the Airborne Troops will be summed up in Moscow on Thursday, a competent source in the Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Chief-of-Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Anatoly Kvashnin will supervise the summarization that will take place in the General Staff main office. The event will involve deputy defense ministers, chiefs of main and central departments of the Defense Ministry and General Staff, commanders of airborne large and separate units, the source said.

Lieutenant General Alexander Rukshin, head of the General Staff main operations department, Colonel General Vladislav Putilin, head of the General Staff main mobilization department, Lieutenant General Alexander Skorodumov, head of the Armed Forces main combat training department, and Army General Pavel Grachev, head of the commission that has checked the 106th airborne division, will be among the speakers.

Participants in the event will draw conclusions concerning the level of combat readiness of airborne large and separate units, their demand for up-to-date armament and military hardware, efficiency of combat and airborne training, state of military discipline and order.

They will work out recommendations on ways of the Airborne Troops' further development, determine their strength and finalize their composition.
