Land Forces commission to check quality of combat training in Leningrad military district

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax-AVN) - A Land Forces commission led by Land Forces Commander and Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Kormiltsev will work in the Leningrad military district from April 8 to 13 to check the quality of combat training over the winter training period, a spokesman for the forces command told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.

The commission includes Lieutenant General Valery Yevnevich, Land Forces deputy commander in charge of peacekeeping troops, artillery Lieutenant General Vladimir Zaritsky. chief of the Armed Forces missile troops and, Colonel General Vladimir Danilkin, head of the Land Forces air defense, Colonel General Vitaly Pavlov, army aviation commander, Lieutenant General Alexander Skorodumov, head of the Armed Forces combat training department, Colonel General Viktor Kholstov, chief of the Defense Ministry WMD protection troops, and other senior officials of the Land Forces Command.

Inspectors will pay special attention to the organization of combat training in permanent readiness units and practical use of commanders' combat experience gained in the Chechnya campaign.

After the inspection Kormiltsev will hold a conference to sum up its results. The conference will take place in the district headquarters on April 13.
