GROZNY. March 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Eight rebels were killed and two wounded in a search operation in the Chechen town of Argun on Thursday.
Local law enforcement bodies told Interfax that the rebels attempted to resist federal troops near a secondary school. The extremist gang was fully destroyed, but a federal serviceman was seriously wounded in the engagement and died later that day.
On Wednesday, a car of the Argun military commandant's office came under fire in the town. The driver was killed in the attack.
Argun is located 10km southeast of Grozny.
