New products of Almaz enterprise to be exhibited in Nizhny Novgorod

MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax-AVN) - The Almaz scientific and production enterprise is to present its new achievements in building anti-aircraft assets at the New Technologies in Radioelectronics and Control Systems international conference and exhibition of military and dual-purpose technologies in Nizhny Novgorod, Almaz Designer General Alexander Lemansky told Interfax- Military News Agency on Tuesday.

Lemansky said a model of the Favorit S-300PMU2 mobile multi- channel air defense missile system would be displayed at the exhibition. The system has been designed for efficient protection of objects from aircraft strikes, cruise missiles, tactical and operational missiles in an aggressive radio-jamming environment.

The Almaz press-service told Interfax-AVN that the cutting- edge Altek training and modeling unit was to be exhibited together with the Favorit system. The unit is used for training operators of the S-300 PMU2 missile system and 83M6E2 control assets.

In addition to that, representatives of the enterprise are to put forward their suggestions on upgrading the Pechora anti- aircraft missile system into the Pechora-2A system boasting better combat and maintenance capabilities.

Lemansky opined that the visitors to the exhibition would be most interested in the Lyambda Plus integrated program system used to design high-frequency components and units of radio assets.

Antenna modules and components of the phased array radar of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system as well as a full-scale model of a domic lens enabling full observation of the upper semi- sphere will be the best items of the Almaz enterprise's show bench.

Members of the Almaz delegation are to participate in a scientific conference. The press-service of the company said that Lemansky was to address the conference with a survey report on the problems and prospects for the development of radar location.

Almaz is Russia's head company engaged in development of air defense systems and units. Experts of the enterprise developed the universally-known S-75, S-125, S-200 and S-300PMU1 anti- aircraft missile systems that have been exported to customers in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Now designers of the Almaz enterprise are developing a principally new Triumph air defense system that would be capable of engaging present and future aircraft, including Stealth ones.
