MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax-AVN) - Hardware and veterans of World War II will not participate in the military parade at Moscow's Red Square on the 57th anniversary of victory in World War II, a spokesman for the Moscow military district headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.
The head of the district, Colonel General Ivan Yefremov, has been ordered to command the parade. The event will feature over 5,000 servicemen, including cadets of the Civil Defense Academy of the Emergencies Ministry, who participate in such an event for the first time.
The training of units which are to be involved in the parade will take place on Red Square and at the Frunze central airfield on the Khodynka field. It will end with a dress rehearsal on May 7.
