3 policemen wounded in Chechnya Monday

GROZNY. April 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Three policemen were wounded in Chechnya on Monday by shots and car bombings on highways.

For instance, two UAZ police cars hit a self-made land mine Monday night on the Bachi-Yurt - Mairtup highway in the Kurchaloi district, Interfax was told at the Interior Ministry department for Chechnya.

The blast occurred at the turn to the village of Dzhugerty where the police were heading on an assignment. Two policemen were wounded in the explosion and hospitalized.

Also on Monday a shot was made from a man portable grenade launcher at a UAZ police car near the bridge across the Sunzha river in the Zavodskoi district of Grozny. The police patrol was heading for Chernorechye suburb of Grozny. One policeman received fragmentation wounds.
