MAKHACHKALA. April 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The Dagestani Supreme Court has found Ziyavudin Ziyavudinov guilty of the preparation and execution of a terrorist attack in the town of Buinaksk in September 1999.
Ziyavudinov, a resident of Dagestan, was found guilty on all ten counts and given a 24-year sentence on Tuesday.
A building where military servicemen's families lived was blown up in Buinaksk. A total of 59 people were killed in the blast.
Ziyavudinov was arrested on May 2, 2001 in Kazakhstan during a joint raid by Russian and Kazakh special services.
