NIZHNY NOVGOROD. April 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Two rebels involved in the attack on the TETs-4 steam power plant in the town of Argun overnight to Sunday have been detained by federal forces, Lieutenant General Igor Sofronov, press service chief of the Volga district of the Interior Ministry troops, told Interfax- Military News Agency on Thursday.
"Militants Isa Bochayev and Bamut Dalayev were detained near Argun as a result of a special operation carried out by agents of the Federal Security Service (FSB) and scouts of the district's operations brigade within the unified federal troops group in Chechnya," Sofronov said. According to him, officers of the FSB department in the Argun district are interrogating the detainees.
"A large rebel group comprising at least 50 people attempted to attack the power plant in Argun, but servicemen of the brigade that were guarding the installation organized the defense skillfully and did not permit the rebels to enter the power plant's territory."
Three servicemen got various wounds in the engagement. Rebels lost over 20 people KIA, all of them were buried at the Argun cemetery. Two rebels were wounded and captured.
