VORONEZH. April 15 (Interfax-AVN) - A fight between servicemen and cadets of the military institute in Voronezh resulted in the hospitalization of two privates, a spokesman for the local law-enforcement agencies told Interfax-Military News Agency on Monday.
The fight involved up to 10 people including seven cadets from Kazakhstan.
Preliminary action found out that Air Force Privates Goncharenko, Provatorov and Pchelintsev were attacked by strangers at 9:00 p.m. Moscow time (1700 GMT) on April 13 when returning from a leave.
An on-duty unit heard the noise and arrived at the site. It detained one of the attackers, but the others escaped.
The detainee was identified as Shandybayev, a citizen of Kazakhstan studying in a special department in the Military Electronics Institute. He confessed that six more cadets from Kazakhstan had been involved in the fight.
According to early reports, Shandybayev and his fellow cadets were drunk.
Goncharenko and Pchelintsev were taken to hospital after the skirmish. They are in satisfactory condition.
The military prosecutor's office launched a criminal case on the matter.
