KULYAB. April 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The final stage of South- Anti-Terror Tactical exercise took place at on the Mumirayu testing ground in Tajikistan on Friday.
Russia's rapid deployment 201st motorized rifle division and Tajik Defense Ministry, Security Ministry and Interior Ministry units trained at destroying a 600-man gang that had supposedly invaded Tajikistan from Afghanistan, an Interfax correspondent reports.
The exercise involved about 200 servicemen, artillery, surface-to-air missile systems and attack aircraft. Military attaches of China, India and France in Tajikistan attended the war games.
This was the first attempt at staging a joint action by the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center and the rapid deployment force in Central Asia, center chief Boris Mylnikov told Interfax.
"Being the head of the Anti-Terrorist Center, I am fully satisfied with the conduction and results of the exercise," he said.
