Russian counterintelligence, police find arms arsenal in house of ex-serviceman

KALININGRAD. April 19 (Interfax-AVN) - A joint operation carried out by the regional departments of military counterintelligence and police in the Leninsky district of Kaliningrad resulted in the seizure of an illegal arms arsenal from a former serviceman of a disbanded Baltic Fleet unit, the press service of the Kaliningrad region police department told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.

Law-enforcers found 814 cartridges for the Kalashnikov assault rifle, 22 electric detonators and a large amount of spare parts for artillery armament and armored vehicles in the basement which belonged to the former serviceman.

The name of the suspect is not disclosed in the interests of the investigation.
