MOSCOW. April 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The Rosoboronexport state- owned arms trader will exhibit a series of new innovation projects in the fields of medicine, environment protection, fuel and energy industry, machine-building, measuring equipment, chemistry and new materials at the High Technologies of the Defense Industry international forum that is to take place in Moscow from April 22 to 26.
The enterprise has a data bank that contains over 400 high technologies and innovation projects covering various fields of science and technology, the Rosoboronexport press service told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday. A part of those projects was exhibited at the previous forum of that kind in 2000. This year's forum will feature an expanded and renewed section entitled Innovations of the Defense Industry set up by Rosoboronexport.
Specialists say that almost all innovation projects are distinguished for original ideas, new technical embodiment, a high degree of completion and a relatively low amount of required investments. A part of the projects has no analogues abroad; they are a breakthrough to high technologies of the 21st century, a press service official said.
Rosoboronexport's section at the forum will feature diagnostics and treatment equipment, including the Niva colonoscope, Uzor laser therapeutic device and an infrared therapy device, new-generation aerosol filters, technologies of boosting fuel and gas extraction, a portable ultrasonic detector of gas leaks, aluminium cable lugs, a portable multifunctional welding device, gas alarms, gas analyzers, various control devices, high-temperature piezoelectric elements and modules, water-soluble adhesives on the basis of polymers, a basalt ligament, etc.
Officials of the company are planning to negotiate with potential investors in innovation projects and consumers of innovations, including from abroad, during the forum. The event will involve Russian defense industry enterprises, domestic and foreign enterprises and organizations that specialize in production of knowledge-intensive technologies, investment and venture funds, financial, credit and trade organizations, financial and industrial groups, banks, insurance companies and consulting companies.
An exhibition of promising products that can be promoted on the global and domestic markets entitled High Technologies 2002 will take place under the auspices of the forum.
