TBILISI. April 23 (Interfax-AVN) - Four Star General Harald Kujat, chairman of the NATO Military Committee, and officials of the Georgian Defense Ministry will discuss in Tbilisi ways to contribute to the development of the security and defense systems in the republic, a spokesman for the ministry told Interfax- Military News Agency on Tuesday.
"General Kujat will arrive in Tbilisi for a three-day official visit on Wednesday and will negotiate with Georgian Defense Minister David Tevzadze later in the day," the spokesman said. Moreover, the NATO official will meet with Georgian Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff Dzhoni Pirtskhalaishvili to discuss training of Georgian units for accomplishment of anti-terrorist missions.
The itinerary of Kujat's visit also includes meetings with Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze and State Minister Avtandil Dzhorbenadze; the officials are expected to discuss joint measures against international terrorism as well as prospects of strengthening Georgian-German military cooperation.
After that the NATO general will visit the Georgian Defense Ministry's Kodzhori training center and National Military Academy, the spokesman added.
