MOSCOW. April 24 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian and American experts are expected to complete consultations on strategic offensive weapons in Moscow on Wednesday.
The delegations are led by U.S. Under Secretary of State John Bolton and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Mamedov.
Among the experts are Russian and American military officials, including First Deputy Chief-of-Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Colonel-General Yuri Baluyevsky.
The parties are drafting a legally binding agreement on cuts in strategic offensive weapons for the Russian-American summit to be held at the end of May.
The first day of the talks "drew the parties' positions closer and revealed areas of mutual understanding," sources close to the talks have told Interfax.
The talks are being held ahead of a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov and U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell in Washington in early May.
