MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov and Kremlin on Monday.

Putin asked Ivanov and Patrushev to brief him on results and impressions of their recent trip to Chechnya, including "not only the operational situation, but also preparations for the celebration of Victory Day."

Patrushev reported to the president that the regional headquarters held a session dealing with interaction between its staff and local Chechen authorities.

The FSB director said he hopes all plans will be put into practice. As for preparations for Victory Day on May 9, awards have already been presented to servicemen, Patrushev said. During celebrations on May 9, veterans will also receive gifts and there will be concerts in the republic. "Servicemen are in a good mood and are ready for action," he said.
