KHANKALA. May 13 (Interfax-AVN) - As many as 2,498 servicemen of the Russian Defense Ministry died in Dagestan and Chechnya from August 7, 1999 to May 11, 2002, a source in the unified federal headquarters in the North Caucasus told Interfax- Military News Agency.
A total of 6,325 servicemen of the Defense Ministry were wounded over the same period. Twenty-eight servicemen are missing.
Federals lost eight people KIA last week, the source said. Another eight servicemen were wounded.
