MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Financing of aircraft production programs which are being implemented by the Russian Aviation and Space Agency will happen only at the existence of a non-budget component, the agency's first deputy director general Valery Voskoboinikov told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.
"We will not start financing without the non-budget component. This is an absolutely strict position of the Aviation and Space Agency, position of the state. If there is no non- budget support then such project is not fully in demand," Voskoboinikov said.
As a positive example of the fact that the concentration of non-budget and budget means permit to successfully implement a wide-scale aircraft project Voskoboinikov named the new TU-334 short-range plane. He stressed that the Russian MIG aircraft production corporation which enterprises are to serially produce the plane is fully responsible for the non-budget financing of the project.
Voskoboinikov said that the Aviation and Space Agency is under heavy pressure due to the fact that the country does not pay attention to entire divisions of the aircraft building industry, for example, general purpose aviation.
"No, we do not finance general purpose aviation from the state budget though it is envisaged in the federal program," Voskoboinikov stressed. He added that currently available means are fully focused on projects that are in higher demand, in particular, the production of TU-204, IL-96, TU-334 aircraft, etc.
