Meeting of CIS security and secret service chiefs ends in Georgia

TBILISI. May 17 (Interfax-AVN) - The coordination council of the security and secret service chiefs of the CIS member nations ended its 12th session in the Georgian resort of Borzhomi on Thursday, a spokesman for the Georgian State Chancellery told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze is expected to receive participants in the session on Friday, the spokesman said. After that, the security and secret service chiefs will hold a joint news conference.

The session involved security and secret service chiefs from all CIS nations except Turkmenistan. It was held behind closed doors and none of its participants has so far commented on its results. It has only been reported that the meeting considered the struggle of the CIS security services against drug trafficking and ways of increasing efficiency of the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center.
