Elaboration of draft charter of Collective Security Treaty Organization to take four months - official

MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax-AVN) -Elaboration of the draft charter of the Collective Security Treaty Organization is supposed to take four months, Valery Nikolayenko, secretary general of the Collective Security Council, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.

According to him, a decision on main regulating documents of the new international regional organization was made by presidents of its six member states at a summit in Moscow on Tuesday. "The presidents ordered elaboration of main regulating documents, including the organization's draft charter, before autumn this year," Nikolayenko said.

He stressed that "already on May 21 Moscow will host a session of the organization's representatives, who are to discuss, among other documents, the work on the draft charter."

"Apparently the draft charter will be considered by the presidents and approved at the autumn session of the Collective Security Council in Chisinau," the secretary general said.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
