MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Results of the winter training period in the Russian Armed Forces will be summed up on May 23, a competent source in the Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.
The summing up will involve Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, the source said.
Commanders of armed services and military branches, heads of military districts and fleets, chiefs of main and central departments of the ministry and General Staff are invited to take part in the event.
The main report will be delivered by Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Anatoly Kvashnin.
Apart from detailed analysis of the combat training progress in military units and assigning of missions for the summer period, Kvashnin's report is supposed to contain an analysis of army development results, determine prospects of their further restructuring taking into account the experience in local military conflicts and improvement of the army and navy manning system.
