MOSCOW. May 18 (Interfax-AVN) - A large-scale command post exercise (CPX) of forces reporting to the northwestern regional center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry will take place from May 28 to 30, Deputy Emergencies Minister Colonel General Gennady Kirillov told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"Participants in the exercise will practice putting forces and means of the center on various degrees of alert. Moreover, they are to practice a series of measures needed to switch the Novgorod region's civil defense from the peacetime to wartime modes," Kirillov said.
Tactical training will be held at a construction site of the Planeta enterprise in the city of Veliky Novgorod in the framework of the CPX. "The training will feature reconnaissance on routes of a civil defense units deployment, clearance of debris, evacuation of affected people, search for and disarmament of ammo as well as special treatment of the territory and equipment," Kirillov stressed.
